IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER??????

One purpose of our KB website is to feature individuals that use KB pistons. This week we would like to feature Bob Klos of Carson City, NV, and his 1966 International Harvester Scout.

Back in 1974 Bob discovered this vehicle in Salinas, CA, where it was broken down (you may still think it's broken down?) in someone's backyard under an oak tree. He decided to take it on as a project. He left the original Harvester motor in it until 1974, when he then converted to a 350 Chevy.

In the winter of 2003 he rebuilt the engine with KB193 pistons, switched to an Edlebrock manifold and a small Holly 4-barrel. Bob uses this vehicle for hunting and exploring the Nevada desert and says that he gets 19 miles per gallon (if you can believe that?). He claims that his International is very reliable, and he likes to think of it as "a real man's rig."
